Saturday Sports Update
Top: This week has been a busy one for the Buffalo Bills in terms of signing free agents. The biggest splash came with Wednesday's announcement of outside linebacker and two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller (left) agreeing to a six-year, $120 million deal. General Manager Brandon Beane (shown with Miller) did more than just that; he also brought back players like outside linebacker Shaq Lawson and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (right), who spent the past two seasons in Arizona. Bottom left: Dustin Tokarski stole the show for the Buffalo Sabres on Friday. Tokarski didn't have the busiest night in net, as he recorded 24 saves. But he did make an incredible diving save in the 2nd period on a breakaway chance for the Calgary Flames. The Sabres went on to win 1-0 in overtime, the team's first shutout victory since October 25, 2019, a stretch of 175 games. Photo by the Buffalo Sabres
Bottom right: Round 2 of the NCAA Tournament begins this afternoon, and two of the games on today's schedule will take place at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Providence is one the four teams in the Queen City that will battle for a spot in the Sweet 16; the Friars, who got 13 points, eight rebounds and six assists from Al Durham (right) in Thursday's Round 1 win over South Dakota State, will face Richmond in a 4-vs.-12 matchup. The game after that pits Arkansas against New Mexico State, another 4-vs.-12 contest. Photo by Providence College
