Sunday Sports Update

Top left: For the second game in a row, Dunkirk put up double digits in the runs column on the high school softball diamond on Saturday.  This time around, the Lady Marauders didn't have quite the walk in the park, but they did manage to defeat Southwestern 10-8 to improve their overall record to 4-6 on the season.  Junior Angelina Piede, shown here in the outfield during a game earlier this season against Silver Creek, contributed to the win with a fence-clearing home run.  Photo by Dunkirk High School

Top right: While Dunkirk got a win on the softball diamond Saturday, their baseball team did not fare as well, and it was due in large part to Gowanda pitcher John Ondus.  Under the lights, the junior pitched a no-hitter in a 9-0 victory for the Panthers.  Ondus struck out 14 batters and allowed two walks in the contest.  Photo by Gowanda High School

Bottom left: Giannis Antetokounmpo had plenty of reason to dance on Saturday.  The Milwaukee Bucks superstar scored 42 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out eight assists in a 103-101 over the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the NBA's Eastern Conference Semifinals.  His last two points put the Celtics ahead to stay, as he hit a go-ahead shot with 44.3 seconds remaining.  The win gave the defending Eastern Conference champions a 2-1 series lead.  Photo by the Milwaukee Bucks

Bottom right: Jockey Sonny Leon celebrates after one of the biggest underdogs in Kentucky Derby history won the first leg of horse racing's Triple Crown on Saturday.  Rich Strike, who didn't enter the field until Friday, began the race at Churchill Downs with 80-1 odds to win.  But down the stretch, the horse came out of nowhere and surpassed Epicenter and Zandon, becoming the biggest longshot in 109 years to win the derby.  Photo by USA Today
