Saturday Sports Update
Top: The Buffalo Bills will kick off their 2022 preseason this afternoon at Highmark Stadium, as they welcome the Indianapolis Colts to town. Starters usually don't see much playing time in the first preseason game; that includes quarterback Josh Allen (left), who will not be playing at all. Meanwhile, players like rookie running back James Cook (right) will get their first real opportunity to show what they can do on the field; Cook is expected to add even more potency to a high-powered Bills offense. Today's game can be heard on WDOE (101.5 FM/1410 AM), with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM. Photos by the Buffalo Bills
Bottom: Pitching has been a problem for the New York Yankees in their current slump, and while the starting pitching Friday night in Boston was outstanding, the same cannot be said for their closer. Clay Holmes (left) was pulled after giving up the tying run with one out in the bottom of the 9th inning, and Tommy Pham (right) lined a single down the left field line in the bottom of the 10th to hand the Yanks a 3-2 loss, their eight loss in the last nine games.
