Saturday Sports Update
Top: For the third week in a row, Dunkirk played a game on the high school gridiron that was decided by one possession, and like the previous two games, it ended with a loss for the Marauders. This time, it was at the hands of East Aurora, 20-13 on Friday. Despite falling behind by 20 points in the first half, Dunkirk's defense kept the Marauders in the game. Among the leaders on defense was Connor Jakubowicz (left), shown here sacking East Aurora quarterback Max Freier. Meanwhile, the offense was led by Quanteer Neallard, shown here getting ready to catch a screen pass from Noah Sikes (right). Neallard finished the night with 19 rushing attempts for 150 yards and a touchdown. Photos by Greg Larson
Bottom: The New York Yankees' start to their weekend series in Milwaukee didn't go as planned. The Bronx Bombers saw an early five-run lead erased, then fell behind in the 8th inning on a two-out error by Isiah Kiner-Falefa (left). After the Bronx Bombers tied the game in the top of the 9th, the Brewers rallied and won in walk-off fashion, as Garrett Mitchell's bases-loaded, two-out single in the bottom of the inning handed the Yanks a 7-6 loss. New York's lead in the American League East is 5 1/2 games over Toronto. Photos by USA Today
