Saturday Sports Update

Top: Complete domination.  That's about the best way to describe Fredonia's high school football game Friday night, as the Hillbillies controlled the game from the first play and defeated Silver Creek 41-7 on homecoming night at the Orange Bowl.  Micah Davis (left), shown here running on a sweep off a tap pass, had 107 total yards from scrimmage and two touchdown in just one half of play.  The Black Knights battled behind players like Alex Galfo (right), shown here finding an opening through Fredonia's defense.  They managed to get a touchdown to avoid the shutout after the Billies rested most of their starters in the second half.  Photos by Greg Larson

Bottom left: The Buffalo Bills brought in cornerback Xavier Rhodes this week to shore up a thin secondary, but his team debut will have to wait.  On Friday, head coach Sean McDermott announced that the former Viking and Colt suffered a hamstring injury and will not play against the Baltimore Ravens.  Rhodes is one of four players who will be missing for the Bills on Sunday.  Photo by the Buffalo Bills

Bottom right: The Seattle Mariners are playoff bound, ending the longest active drought without a postseason berth in the four major American sports.  On Friday, Cal Raleigh made it happen by hitting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Mariners a 2-1 win over Oakland.  It marks the franchise's first playoff appearance since 2001.  Photo by USA Today
