Saturday Sports Update
Top: All eyes are on the quarterback situation at One Bills Drive, as Josh Allen (left) continues to deal with a sprained elbow he suffered near the end of last Sunday's loss to the New York Jets. Allen practiced on a limited basis on Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday and is listed as questionable for tomorrow's game against the Minnesota Vikings; head coach Sean McDermott described the situation with Allen as "hour-to-hour." Case Keenum (right) will get the start if Allen does not play. Photos by the Buffalo Bills
Bottom left: The Buffalo Sabres will try to snap a four-game losing streak tonight when they face the Boston Bruins at the KeyBank Center. The Sabres lost the first two games on their current homestand, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Arizona Coyotes and a 7-4 game to the Vegas Golden Knights. Tage Thompson has been one of the bright spots during the homestand, scoring three goals, including two in Thursday's loss to Vegas. Photo by the Buffalo Sabres
Bottom right: New York Yankees catcher Jose Trevino proved to be a great acquisition last season; good enough to win the American League Platinum Glove Award, which is given to the league's best defensive player. Trevino led all Major League catchers in 2022 with 21 defensive runs saved and was named to his first All-Star team. He is also the first Yankees player to win the award since it debuted in 2011.
