Top left: The Buffalo Sabres appear to have put their stretch of bad hockey in the rear view mirror. On Saturday, the Sabres recorded back-to-back wins with a 2-0 shutout of the New York Islanders, which marks the first time they have won consecutive games since February 26th. Eric Comrie, shown here being congratulated by his teammates, made 26 saves in posting the shutout. Top right: The first team in this year's NCAA Final Four is one that only 1.27% of March Madness brackets had making it that far. Florida Atlantic, the number 9 seed out of the East Region, upset Kansas State 79-76 on Saturday to clinch its first ever Final Four appearance. Bottom left: Fredonia High School's star football player has made an official announcement regarding his future athletic pursuits. On social media, senior Ethan Fry, shown here throwing a pass during this season's Section VI football playoffs, will be transferring to the Trinity-Pawling School in Dutchess County and reclassifying with the Class of 2024. Fry was an all-state selection as Fredonia's quarterback in the fall and, more recently, helped lead the school to a Section VI basketball title. File photo
Bottom right: Dunkirk High School played its first ever girls flag football game on Saturday. The Lady Marauders made a trip to Williamsville South and played to a 9-9 tie. The game was called due to inclement weather with 2:17 remaining, right after Dunkirk tied the game with a touchdown and successful three-point conversion. Image by Williamsville South High School
