Top: The two architects behind the run of current success for the Buffalo Bills are staying put through the 2027 season. On Friday, the Bills signed General Manager Brandon Beane (left) and head coach Sean McDermott (right) to a two-year contract extension. Since the two arrived in Buffalo in 2017, they turned the Bills from a perennial loser into one of the top teams in the AFC, a run that includes three consecutive AFC East Division titles and five playoff appearance in six seasons. But his effort for the New York Yankees wasn't enough, as they lost to the Texas Rangers by a 4-2 score in 10 innings. Photo by USA Today
Bottom right: The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed a defenseman who was part of its AHL affiliate's playoff run. On Friday, the team inked Joseph Cecconi to a one-year contract. The 26-year-old Cecconi came to Western New York in a December trade with the Dallas Stars and tallied eight points in the regular season and five points in the postseason with the Rochester Americans.
