Head coach Sean McDermott (left) told reporters this week that he would have his starters, including Josh Allen (right) see some playing time in the team's final preseason game today against the Chicago Bears. The Bills are in need of ironing out their wrinkles after they committed 13 penalties and four turnovers in last week's 27-15 loss at Pittsburgh. Bottom left: A player the San Francisco 49ers coveted to be their quarterback of the future is now out of the Bay Area after just two seasons. On Friday, the Niners traded former 1st-round draft pick Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 4th-round selection. Lance, who was chosen third overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, appeared in only eight games in two seasons for the Niners after they gave up three 1st-round picks and a 3rd-rounder to acquire the draft pick they used to get him. Bottom right: The New York Yankees have been dreadful since the MLB All-Star break, but Friday night's performance was an exception. D.J. LeMahieu hit two home runs to power the last-place Bronx Bombers to a 6-2 win over the Tampa Bays, while Gerrit Cole tossed 7 2/3 strong innings for his 11th win of the season. Photo by USA Today
