Second Heat Advisory Issued, Starting Wednesday Afternoon

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a second heat advisory for most of Western New York, as heat and humidity continue building across the region. The new advisory begins at 12:00 PM Wednesday and will continue until 8:00 PM Friday. Meteorologist Liz Jurkowski says heat index values could reach the low 100s throughout the advisory area. She adds that the temperatures should feel like the upper 90s in Chautauqua County...

The heat advisory that began Tuesday afternoon will expire at 8:00 PM. Meanwhile, an extreme heat warning has been issued for some areas north of Buffalo, where heat indices could reach 105.
