Seven Arrests Made in Jamestown Drug Raid

Seven people were arrested Monday after an investigation into complaints of narcotics sales in Jamestown. Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the upper apartment of 26 West 9th Street shortly before 2:45 PM with assistance from the Jamestown Police SWAT Team. Detectives located a total of 14 people inside the apartment and also saw various items being thrown out of a window. A search of the residence led to the seizure of 4.1 grams of cocaine, 2.3 grams of crack cocaine, 28.8 grams of fentanyl, $195 in cash, digital scales, packaging materials, and a handgun.

Luis Torres-Cortes, Eric Carter, Jesus Lao-Santana and Donald Swanson are each charged with 2nd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of 1st-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Jimmy Alvarez-Ocasio is charged with criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Hector DeJesus was wanted by Jamestown Police for a petit larceny charge; he was additionally charged with 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing a quantity of fentanyl. Jacob Trippy was wanted by Ellicott Town Police and turned over to that department at the scene. The other seven people inside the apartment were released from the scene. Due to the conditions of the apartment, the Jamestown Department of Development responded and condemned the apartment.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, Ellicott Town Police, Dunkirk Police, Chautauqua County Emergency Services tac meds, Jamestown Fire Department, and Jamestown Department of Development.
