A 20-year-old man was taken into custody on charges stemming from a brief vehicle pursuit in Jamestown early Thursday. Jamestown Police were called to a report of a fight on the city's west side shortly after 12:30 AM and saw a vehicle flee from the curbside of where the incident took place. Officers tried to pull over the vehicle, but the driver -- later identified as Anthony Rivera -- allegedly failed to comply. The vehicle failed to stay on the roadway, struck a curb, and eventually came to a stop in a yard. Rivera then fled on foot and was arrested after a brief foot pursuit. Rivera was charged with 3rd-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and DWI. He was also issued multiple traffic tickets.
