CAWTILE, Elected Officials Voice Opposition to Wind Turbines at Sunset Bay Rally

The Citizens Against Wind Turbines in Lake Erie (CAWTILE) returned to northern Chautauqua County on Wednesday to call on Governor Kathy Hochul and leadership in Albany to reject legislation that would establish a pilot program for turbine development in the lake. At a rally at the Sunset Bay Beach Club, CAWTILE President Patty Meckes announced that more than 90% of municipalities across Chautauqua and Erie counties have passed resolutions rejecting the placing of turbines in the lake. She says Western New Yorkers are "standing strong"...

To date, all but four towns in Chautauqua County have officially gone on record opposing wind turbines in Lake Erie. Elected officials from Erie and Genesee counties were also present for the rally, along with a representative from Congressman Nick Langworthy's Office. It marked the third year in a row CAWTILE has held a rally in Sunset Bay.
