A woman is facing a child endangerment charge after her three-year-old son was seen playing while unattended on the shoulder of a highway in the Town of Westfield. According to Westfield Police, several concerned citizens alerted the agency about the child in the area of the Napa Auto Parts store on Route 20 at about 7:45 PM Tuesday. Shortly after officers arrived on scene, 23-year-old Angel Travis arrived and returned the child home. An investigation revealed that Travis allegedly lacked accountability and failed to maintain supervision of her child, placing him at a substantial risk of danger. Travis was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
