A Jamestown woman who assaulted a federal court officer four years ago has been sentenced to one year probation. According to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo, the sentence for 30-year-old Alyssa Sheldon was the result of an investigation by the DEA and the FBI. Sheldon was taken into custody on an arrest warrant on May 17, 2022 and made an initial appearance in a federal courtroom the following day. During the proceeding, Sheldon was ordered remanded into custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. While she was being escorted, Sheldon tried to escape by resisting the escorting officer and kicking him below his waist. She continued to resist and tried to spit in the officer's face.
