A Jamestown man has been sentenced to prison for charges related to methamphetamine possession and distribution. On Thursday, U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that 20-year-old Ruben Medina, who was convicted of possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine, will serve seven years in prison.
The conviction and sentencing comes after a traffic stop was conducted on September 11, 2024 by a Jamestown Police officer due to an outstanding probation warrant, where approximately 109 grams of meth were recovered and Medina was taken into custody.
The September arrest followed a prior search warrant execution on June 25, 2024, where investigators searched a Newland Avenue residence connected to Medina and seized cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, p-fluorofentanyl, suboxone strips, $200 in cash, and a firearm.
Medina was tried and ultimately sentenced to 84 months in prison by US District Judge Richard J. Arcara on June 4. The case is part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative established by Executive Order 14159, Protecting the American People Against Invasion.
