Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across our area Sunday, as a cold front crosses through. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has all of Western New York under a slight severe weather risk, with the greatest threat inland from the Great Lakes. The main window for the storms will be 1:00-7:00 PM. Forecasters say the primary threat will be damaging winds, which could knock down trees and power lines. Some storms will also be capable of producing localized heavy rainfall. Any heavier showers and storms may result in ponding of water in poor drainage areas and localized flash flooding.
