New York State's Budget Has Grown to $277 Billion

New York State's recently adopted budget was originally reported to be $268.5 billion. Now it has grown even larger than that. The 2026-2027 spending plan that Governor Kathy Hochul signed is now up to $277 billion. Andrew Molitor: less money going to providers

Molitor says as a result, the current year's budget is $14.3 billion greater than what Hochul originally proposed. He adds that the size of the state budget has grown by $70 billion since Hochul took office in 2021.
