A Westfield man was charged with 2nd-degree menacing after he allegedly brandished a knife in the area of the Thruway Holiday Motel last week. Westfield Police were called to the scene on North Portage Street shortly after 10:45 AM on June 23rd and spoke with a motel resident, who told officers that another motel guest -- later identified as 35-year-old Kyle Shaw -- displayed the knife while walking past the individual and made a stabbing motion toward them while their back was turned. Police say Shaw was no longer on scene when they arrived, but he was located a short distance away. He was taken into custody without incident and was later released with an appearance ticket for Westfield Town Court.
