City Police Give Update on Gazelle Street Homicide

A member of the Dunkirk Police Department says the investigation into a recent homicide in the city's First Ward is moving along at a "steady pace." Captain Doug Switzer, who was a guest on WDOE's "Viewpoint" program on Wednesday, gave an update on the shooting at 110 South Gazelle Street that occurred on June 11th. Switzer did not provide many additional details, but he does tell us that his department is hoping for an arrest soon...

Switzer says the homicide involved people who were familiar with each other. Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt previously told WDOE News that the investigation found that there was an "element of drug trafficking" to the case.
