The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene has been awarded a $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Congressman Nick Langworthy, who announced the funding on Thursday, says it will be used to support community mental health services for children with serious emotional disturbances. The funding is provided through the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED) program and will help strengthen access to coordinated behavioral health services for children and families throughout the county.
