A Gerry man has been charged after an investigation into a report of a vehicle backing into a ditch in the Town of Ellington last week. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies say the incident was reported on Bates Road shortly after 6:30 PM Thursday. According to deputies, the vehicle reportedly left before they arrived, but was located a short time later. The driver, 34-year-old Joshua Rivera, was charged with DWI, unlicensed operation, and backing unsafely. He will appear in Gerry Town Court at a later date.
