A months-long investigation into the theft of funds from patients at a Dunkirk-area nursing facility has led to charges against a Fredonia woman. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says investigators received a complaint on April 22nd about the larceny of funds from one patient. The probe found that 45-year-old Stacey Fadale had allegedly stolen more than $11,000 in funds from multiple patients at the facility over the course of several years. The Sheriff's Office also alleges that Fadale destroyed facility records in order to conceal the larceny of patient funds. A warrant was issued for Fadale, who turned herself in Wednesday morning and was arraigned at the Chautauqua County Jail on charges of 3rd-degree grand larceny and 1st-degree falsifying business records.
