Hochul, Gillibrand Call for Reversal of Plan to End Medicare Part D Subsidies

The Trump Administration's plan to end Medicare Part D subsidies at the end of this year has drawn the ire of two top Democrats from New York. According to policy analyst estimates, that plan will raise prescription drug costs for approximately 1.3 million seniors across the state. Governor Kathy Hochul joined seniors in New York City on Wednesday, demanding a stop to these planned Medicare cuts, which she called a "new assault on seniors"...

Kirsten Gillibrand: reduced average premium by 40%

Gillibrand says ending those subsidies would raise costs for as many as 25 million Americans on Medicare. Trump Administration official Mehmet Oz, who announced the plan last week, said in a social media post that it would stabilize the market. He added that premiums "will increase by less than $10 for most Medicare recipients, with many even seeing LOWER premiums."
