An area of low pressure will pass to our north and bring the potential for some severe weather Monday afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has most of Western New York under a marginal severe weather risk, with the extreme southern parts of Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties under a slight risk. Forecasters say strong to damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat will any storms that develop, and some storms will also be capable of producing localized heavy rainfall, which may result in minor ponding in poor drainage areas.
