
A two-story residential and commercial building in Cattaraugus County is a total loss following a blaze that began early Sunday morning. According to the East Randolph Fire Department, a total of 10 people were displaced as a result of the fire at 162 Main Street in East Randolph, which was reported at about 4:00 AM. No injuries were reported, but multiple household cats perished in the fire. The building housed a pizza shop on the ground floor and six apartments on the second floor. Firefighters say the building required an emergency demolition due to the rapid fire progression and extensive structural damage. The cause of the fire remained undetermined as of early Monday afternoon. Firefighters from Randolph, Salamanca, Kennedy, Cold Spring, Little Valley and Conewango provided mutual aid. Randolph Regional EMS and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office were also on scene.
