A man in the Town of Portland was taken into custody following an altercation late Wednesday night. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene shortly before 11:15 PM. Deputies say an investigation found that 44-year-old Ryan Evans restrained another person while making unwanted physical contact, all in the presence of children. Evans was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment on charges of 3rd-degree assault, 2nd-degree unlawful imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
