Langworthy, Gies Pick Up Additional Labor Endorsements

The two candidates running for New York's 23rd Congressional District have each picked up new endorsements from labor organizations.

Incumbent Republican Nick Langworthy announced Thursday that he is being backed by the New York Teamsters in his re-election campaign. The Teamsters represent more than 1.3 million working men and women across various industries, including transportation, logistics, manufacturing, construction, public services, and more. According to Langworthy's campaign, the Teamsters cited his "commitment to championing policies that expand economic opportunity, protect good-paying jobs, and ensure workers have a fair shot at building a better future for their families."

Also on Thursday, Democratic challenger Aaron Gies announced that the New York State AFL-CIO has endorsed him for Congress. That endorsement was announced at the organization's 2026 Committee on Political Education (COPE) Convention in Albany. The New York State AFL-CIO -- the largest state federation of labor in the nation -- represents 2.5 million union members and a total 3,000 affiliated public sector, private sector and building trades unions throughout the state. Gies says that endorsement reflects the central purpose of his campaign, which is "making it possible for working people to build an affordable good life in Western New York."
