The Jamestown Police Department has announced additional charges stemming from an investigation into a stabbing from last December involving a social media influencer. Police say investigators interviewed witnesses, obtained video footage and executed a search warrant on a cell phone following the incident at Tim Hortons in Brooklyn Square on December 13th. As a result, they determined that Nicholas Attalla of Erie, Pennsylvania -- also known as "Niky Sal" -- began communicating with an unknown person who identified themselves as a 16-year-old male on a dating site. Attalla, who was portraying himself as a 14-year-old female, spoke on the phone with the alleged 16-year-old male. The conversation between the two continued through texting, and they agreed to meet at Tim Hortons. Attalla entered Tim Hortons and confronted Jamestown residents 43-year-old James Morris and 42-year-old Eric Spencer. Attalla accused Morris of attempting to meet a 14-year-old girl and allegedly threatened him based solely off the phone conversation and his voice. Through cell phone search warrants, investigators confirmed that there was no phone contact between Attalla, Morris or Spencer leading up to the confrontation. Police say a fight ensued as a result of the accusations Attalla was publicly making towards Morris and Spencer. During the fight, there were numerous patrons who were placed in a dangerous situation, including a one-year-old child. The fight spilled directly into the child and their family.
Attalla, Morris and Spencer were all charged with 2nd-degree criminal nuisance and endangering the welfare of a child as a result of the investigation, with Attalla also facing a charge of 3rd-degree assault. Attalla turned himself in to Jamestown Police last Friday, while Spencer and Morris were both arrested in January. Morris' new charges are in addition to one count of 1st-degree assault, one count of tampering with physical evidence, two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count of 2nd-degree menacing, which were leveled against him in December.
