One Killed After Collision Between Glider Planes in Saratoga County

An 80-year-old man died after two glider planes collided in mid-air in upstate New York. According to State Police, debris was located late Friday afternoon in a remote area in Edinburg, located in Saratoga County. Police say the pilot, identified as James Morzillo of Saratoga Springs, was the only person in the aircraft at the time of the collision. An investigation determined that Morzillo was flying in the area with a group of gliders when the collision occurred. The contact reportedly caused him to lose control of his aircraft and crash. Morzillo was discovered dead at the scene. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board were notified of the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
