A man who attacked three corrections officers while incarcerated at the Lakeview Correctional Facility has been sentenced to 20 years to life in state prison. Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt says 37-year-old Windsor Coleman of Massapequa received his indeterminate sentence on Wednesday after a jury found him guilty of four counts of 2nd-degree assault and two counts of 1st-degree promoting prison contraband stemming from an incident at the Brocton-area prison in February 2024. Three officers at Lakeview were injured after being attacked by Coleman while performing a welfare check on his cell after Coleman refused to respond to calls for meal delivery. During the incident, two officers were struck by Coleman with an object modified to be a weapon. The third officer was injured during the officer’s efforts to stop the attack and subdue Coleman. The trial was run by felony prosecutor Andrew Hall, who also successfully argued for "persistent felon" status at Coleman's sentencing.
