State Police issued a total of 19,168 tickets during its first-ever "Fall Safe Speed" initiative. The special enforcement period targeted speeding, aggressive driving, and violations of the Move Over Law from September 22-27. Troopers issued 9,344 tickets for speeding and 492 tickets for Move Over Law violations statewide. In Western New York, a total of 1,728 tickets were issued by Troop A, including 662 for speeding and 72 for Move Over Law violations. Troopers add that there were significant increases in activity compared to the same week last year, with 12,040 tickets issued from September 23-28, 2025.
