Jamestown Police took a city man into custody following an investigation into a domestic incident involving multiple alleged violations of an order of protection. On Monday, officers received a complaint at about 6:30 PM from a location on the city's east side and determined that 42-year-old Ryan Edwards allegedly threw and damaged the protected person's cell phone before forcibly taking her to the ground and applying pressure to her neck. Following the incident, Edwards allegedly contacted the female numerous times using generated phone numbers. Officers say he then returned to her residence the following day and made contact with her, further violating the order of protection. Edwards was located outside the city with assistance from Ellicott Town Police and subsequently transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He faces two counts of 1st-degree criminal contempt, plus one count each of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and 4th-degree criminal mischief.
