The nation's largest public transportation system recently decided to pump the brakes on its efforts for a full zero-emission bus fleet and is planning to purchase more than 600 buses powered by natural gas. According to State Senator George Borrello, the decision by the MTA is a signal that New York State needs to take a similar approach with its mandate for full electrification of school buses. Borrello, who spoke about the issue on a recent edition of WDOE's "Viewpoint" program, is using that development to continue pushing for an implementation of a pilot study he has proposed...
