Marilyn F. (Farrell) Ferguson, 95, of Fredonia, formerly of Buffalo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born on July 30, 1930 in Buffalo to the late John and Alice Farrell.
Marilyn had a sister, Jackie (Kirkendahl); a nephew, Glenn; and a niece, Carol. Marilyn worked as a medical secretary for Mercy Hospital in Buffalo and as a secretary at Erie 1 BOCES at Potter Road in West Seneca.
She was married to former Buffalo Police officer Vincent Sheehan before marrying John L. Ferguson, who predeceased her in 2005. She had one son, Fredonia Mayor Michael J. (Dianne St. George) Ferguson of Fredonia; and a stepdaughter, former corrections officer, the late Cheryl Harding of Alden. Marilyn adored her five grandchildren, Kelly (Michael) Moore of Clarence, Rhonda (Brian) Baumgardner of Lexington, SC, Andrew (Chelsey) Ferguson of Brighton, MI, Lindsey (Michael) Hanson of Holland, MI and Olivia (Nathan) Anderson of Frewsburg. She was proud of her eight great-grandchildren, Lillian and Henry Moore, Shiloh and Sheridan Baumgardner, Sage Ferguson, William and Wesley Hanson and Charlotte Anderson.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue in Fredonia, where a prayer service led by Pastor James LaBarr of Harvest Chapel in Fredonia will follow at 2:00 PM.
