Doris M. Manning, 94, of Irving passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk. She was born on December 14, 1931 in Cohocton, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Glover) Smith.
Doris married the love of her life, Donald A. Manning on January 15, 1950, and he preceded her in death on August 7, 2012 after 62 years of marriage.
Doris is survived by her son-in-law, Larry (Lori) Reynolds of Irving; her cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Michele) Reynolds and Tonya Russo, both of Irving; a sister, Marion Allison of Sinclairville; a great-grandson, Noah Reynolds; a great-granddaughter, Avery Reynolds; and many nieces, nephews and many who loved her as family. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn L. Reynolds; and two sisters, Florence Nordblum and M. Pauline Fellinger.
She worked with her husband as a bookkeeper for the family business, Manning Bros. Inc. for many years.
Doris loved woodworking, where she made several pieces anything from furniture to holiday decorations. She enjoyed making computer home movies, bowled for several years with her daughter and granddaughter. She also spent many years volunteering at St. Columban's on the Lake Retirement Home. In addition, she was an active member of the Irving Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Per Doris' wishes, services will be private.
