Janice Elaine Penhollow, 84, a lifelong resident of Cassadaga, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. She was born on December 31, 1941, the daughter of the late Doris and Cecil Penhollow of Falconer.
Janice is survived by her four children, Melody (Gerry) Pierce, Joanne Gilbert-Hopkins, Terri (Byron) Gilbert and Michael Gilbert; siblings, Bonnie Frame and Donna Wilder and Harvey Penhollow; along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a niece, and several nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; the love of her life, Don "Spider" Dorman; a son, Paul Gilbert, Jr.; two brothers, Albert and Glenn Penhollow; and a granddaughter, Machele.
Janice worked as a seasonal grape worker and a waitress at the 76 Truck Stop. She also worked at the Cherry Factory in Ripley and ran the Theater Restaurant for years.
She loved country music, "especially singing and dancing," and always looked for a bargain yard sale. Her real love was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may visit the Morse Funeral Home, 19 East Main Street in Brocton on Wednesday, May 6 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home, with Pastor Richard Hamilton of the Stockton Community Church officiating,
