Donald R. Herb, 82, of South Dayton entered into rest on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He was born on June 16, 1943 in Buffalo to his late parents, Arthur Herb and Inez Fox.
Don went on to serve in the United States Navy and was stationed in the Mediterranean.
He worked for Crescent Tool in South Carolina, Flickinger's in Falconer, and Pine Valley Central Schools as a custodian and a bus driver, retiring in 2017 after 20 years of service.
Don was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, trapping and fishing and the camaraderie with his friends. Don also enjoyed his time with family.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Sandy; his children, Kevin (Cindy) Herb and Jodie (Kevin) Duncan; stepchildren, Kristine Martin and Stephan Washburg; his grandchildren, Cy, Haili, Destany, Dakota, Ke and Seth; two great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Harvey Housenecht.
Relatives and friends may visit the DiStasio Funeral Home, 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners in South Dayton on Monday, May 4 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Villenova Cemetery with full military honors.
