On Monday, May 4, 2026 at Golisano Children's Hospital of Buffalo, Jamari A. Baez was welcomed into heaven at 3:08 PM.
Jamari was a tender soul with the ability to touch many hearts even without saying a word. He was a cherished student at E2CCB LoGuidice Educational Center, where he enjoyed field trips, swimming in the pool, art, music, friends and staff. Jamari also enjoyed nature, family time and being the center of attention wherever he went stealing the hearts of those he encountered. Those who knew Jamari knew just how special he truly was, tender loving with a tenacious spirit and beautiful brown eyes, to some Jamari was just a boy but to us he was a warrior. Jamari fought courageous battles throughout his life, always overcoming each trial and tribulation with resilience and grace; a true inspiration to those around him, he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his loving mother, Evelyn Gonzalez; stepfather, Anthonie Breault, Jr.; siblings, Kayda, Tony and Emorett Breault; father, Jarred (Kristi Gorniak) Baez; Kristi's children, Sophia, Chase, Chanse and Savannah; grandmother, Rebecca Fisher; great- grandmothers, Crecencia Rosas and Phyllis Fisher; and several aunts uncles and cousins. Jamari is preceded in death by his sister, Jivae Baez; uncle, Juni; great-uncle, Pat; grandmother, Rosa Cettell; and grandfather, Rexford Fisher.
When Jamari passed, it became clear he touched more lives than we thought.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend calling hours on Saturday, May 9 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Avenue in Dunkirk. Interment will be held in private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
