Mary Malek, 75, of Otto passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at ECMC in Buffalo. She was born on January 4, 1951 in Gowanda, the daughter of the late Richard and Loretta (Gehrke) Frank.
Mrs. Malek was married to James Malek, Sr. who predeceased her.
She was a registered nurse for over 30 years at J.N. Adam in Perrysburg and with WNYDDSO. She was a lifetime member of the Springville VFW and was a member of the Springville American Legion and Otto Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She also taught Sunday school.
Mrs. Malek is survived by two sons, John (Danelle) Parent, Jr. of Cattaraugus and James (Jess) Malek, Jr. of Arkport; two daughters, Jean Long of Jamestown and Jan Parent of Niagara Falls; eight grandchildren, Jeweleigh, Kayleigh, Skyler, Ethan, Mackenzie, Devin, Brandon and Jayden; a great-granddaughter. Elianna; and a sister, Kathy Frank of Cattaraugus. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Judith VanCise.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion in Springville or the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Otto.
