Russell E. Dash

Russell E. Dash, born on December 8, 1960 in Gowanda, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 in Leon. He was a beloved son, partner, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Russell shared 49 devoted years with his loving partner, Denise M. Patrizi, building a life filled with love, loyalty, and countless memories. Together they raised a family that was the center of his world.

Russell took great pride in his family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. He is survived by his children, Joshua Dash, Danielle (husband Andrew) Anderson and Jesse Dash; cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Autumn, Cameron, Cassandra, Kaleb, Taylor, Haley, Jace, Joshlynn and Kashlynn; great-grandchildren, Owen, Kayden and Sebastian; and siblings, Beverly Tatchell, Bonnie Olson and Phillip Dash. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Clara (Holmes) Dash; siblings, Joyce Greenland, Bette Abbey and Linda George; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him with love and affection.

Russell spent his working years as a mechanic and factory worker, and he was known for his strong work ethic and practical skills. He approached his work with determination and a willingness to get the job done, qualities that reflected the way he lived his life. Those who knew him appreciated his straightforward nature and the dependable spirit he brought to both work and family life.

Outside of work, Russell enjoyed hunting, working on demolition derby cars, and following NASCAR. He also enjoyed partying with the best of them and made many lasting memories through good times shared with family and friends. Above all, he valued the time he spent with those closest to him, and his happiest moments were often found in the company of the people he loved.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4 at 11:00 AM at Liberty Park Cemetery, 101 South Street in Cattaraugus.
