Sabres win their third straight game...Yankees on the brink of elimination...and the Phillies are one win away from the World Series.  Greg Larson has more details on today's Sunday Sports Update...

Sunday Sports Update

Top: The improved play at the end of the previous NHL season has so far carried over into the early part of the new season for the Buffalo Sabres.  On Saturday, the Sabres won their third consecutive road game, defeating the Vancouver Canucks 5-1.  Among the notable performances in the contest were two goals from Victor Olofsson and Rasmus Dahlin scoring in his fifth consecutive game.  Buffalo has won four out of five games to begin the season.  Photo by the Buffalo Sabres

Bottom left: The offensive woes continued for the New York Yankees on Saturday, and now they find themselves one game away from being eliminated following a 5-0 loss to the Houston Astros in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.  Aaron Judge, whose power hitting carried the team for much of the season, has been struggling in the playoffs, including 1-for-12 with three strikeouts in the ALCS.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom right: The Philadelphia Phillies, who finished in third place in their own division this season, are one win away from reaching the World Series.  On Saturday, the Phillies rallied from an early 4-0 deficit and defeated the San Diego Padres 10-6 in Game 4 of the NLCS.  Kyle Schwarber (left) and Rhys Hoskins (right) both homered in Saturday's win.  Photo by USA Today
