Sunday Sports Update
Top: The improved play at the end of the previous NHL season has so far carried over into the early part of the new season for the Buffalo Sabres. On Saturday, the Sabres won their third consecutive road game, defeating the Vancouver Canucks 5-1. Among the notable performances in the contest were two goals from Victor Olofsson and Rasmus Dahlin scoring in his fifth consecutive game. Buffalo has won four out of five games to begin the season. Aaron Judge, whose power hitting carried the team for much of the season, has been struggling in the playoffs, including 1-for-12 with three strikeouts in the ALCS. Photo by USA Today
Bottom right: The Philadelphia Phillies, who finished in third place in their own division this season, are one win away from reaching the World Series. On Saturday, the Phillies rallied from an early 4-0 deficit and defeated the San Diego Padres 10-6 in Game 4 of the NLCS.
