Top right: A disconcerting scene from the soccer world. During a group stage game on Friday between the Czech Republic and Croatia at the European Championships in France, Croatian fans threw flares onto the pitch late in the game. Officials had to get the players off the pitch for about five minutes before play could be resumed. UEFA, the governing body for soccer in Europe, said afterwards that it plans to open disciplinary procedures against Croatia for the incident. Photo by Reuters
