Saturday Sports Update

Top left: The Brocton Bulldogs show that they can still be in good spirits after getting shut out in their first ever appearance in the New York State baseball championships.  On Friday, the Bulldogs managed only one hit and lost to Deposit/Hancock 3-0 in the Class D semifinals at Binghamton's NYSEG Stadium.  Photo by Jennifer Rizzo

Top right: Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge celebrate after Gardner's two-run home run gave the New York Yankees the lead in the 8th inning of Friday's game against the New York Mets.  As John Sterling would say, Gardner planted it just over the right field fence at Citi Field to give the Yanks a 3-1 lead.  They would go on to win 4-1.  Photo by Newsday

Bottom: It seemed like a foregone conclusion to many NBA fans before the series began.  On Friday in Cleveland, it became a formality, as the Golden State Warriors beat the Cavaliers 108-85 to sweep the Cavs and win their third NBA title in four years.  Stephen Curry (center) led all scorers with 37 points in the win.  Kevin Durant (far right) had a triple-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists was named Finals MVP.  Photo by USA Today
