Saturday Sports Update

Top: For Virginia, Auburn, Texas Tech, and Michigan State, the road does indeed end in Minneapolis.  U.S. Bank Stadium is the site of this year's Final Four, which features three schools who are unaccustomed to making it to college basketball's biggest stage.  You can listen to coverage of tonight's Final Four games on WDOE (94.9 FM/1410 AM) -- coverage begins at 4:30 PM, leading up to tip-off of the game between Virginia and Auburn at 6:09 PM, followed by Michigan State vs. Texas Tech approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game!  Photo by the NCAA

Bottom left: In 1961-1962, Oscar Robertson became the first player in NBA history to average a triple-double in one season.  That feat, once thought to be unreachable, is now being made routine by Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook.  On Friday, Westbrook clinched his third consecutive season averaging a triple-double in a victory over the Detroit Pistons.  Photo by USA Today

Bottom right: Chautauqua Lake High School senior Cianna Braymiller has officially signed a letter of intent to play softball for Mercyhust Northeast in Pennsylvania.  Braymiller has been a varsity starter for four seasons and was part of the Lady Thunderbirds' Class C state championship team in 2018.
