Sunday Sports Update
Top: Brocton High School's baseball team had another deep postseason run in 2019, even deeper that it had last year. That run ended with a 12-1 loss in five innings to Whitehall in the New York State Class D championship game. Derrick Burns (left) drove in the Bulldogs' only run of the game with an RBI single in the 1st inning. Jordan Krystofiak (right) took the loss on the mound, as the red-hot bats of the Golden Knights scored at least two runs off him in four of the five innings. Photos by the Observer
Bottom left: Anthony Davis and LeBron James are going to be teammates in Los Angeles. On Saturday, multiple reports indicated that the New Orleans Pelicans traded Davis (aka "The Brow") to the Lakers in exchange for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round draft picks. Davis averaged 23.7 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in his seven seasons with New Orleans. Photo by USA Today
Bottom right: It was a party in St. Louis on Saturday for Ryan O'Reilly and the Blues in celebration of their Stanley Cup Finals victory over the Boston Bruins. The former Buffalo Sabre, who was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as the Finals MVP, called the parade "the coolest experience" he's ever had. Photo by USA Today
