Sunday Sports Update

Top: Saturday was senior day for the Dunkirk High School girls basketball team, and the biggest spotlight shined on Nadara O'dell (left) and Kymi Nance (right) during the Lady Marauders' game against Olean.  O'dell registered her fifth 30-point game of the season, and in the process, reached 1,000 career points during the 3rd quarter.  Meanwhile, Nance, who scored 24 points received a game ball from head coach Ken Ricker at halftime to commemorate her reaching that same milestone earlier this season.  Dunkirk's 84-46 win clinched the CCAA Division 1 West title for the Lady Maraduers, their first league title in 29 years.  Photos by Ron Szot

Bottom left: Alec Schrader handles the ball during Fredonia's home game against Kenmore West on Saturday.  If that Fredonia uniform he's wearing looks different to you, that's because the team donned throwback uniforms from the 1990s for its senior day.  The Billies won by a score of 77-55.  Photo by Ron Szot

Bottom right: Slam dunking over a 7'5" player should be enough to win an NBA Slam Dunk Contest, right?  Not so for Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic.  Here, Gordon needed only one attempt to execute the final dunk of the night, which involved him leaping over Boston Celtics rookie Tacko Fall.  But in the eyes of the judges, the breathtaking dunk wasn't enough to beat Miami's Derrick Jones in the contest.  Photo by USA Today
