Top left: If the NHL does come back to complete its 2019-2020 season, there is a modified playoff format in place. The NHL Players Association on Friday approved a 24-team, conference-based format should both sides agree to terms on restarting the season. No sites have been revealed for a potential restart at this time, but Las Vegas is considered one of the favored locations.
Top right: The New York Jets will be getting a proven veteran quarterback to back up Sam Darnold in 2020. On Friday, the team agreed to a one-year contract with Joe Flacco, who will be entering his 13th NFL season. Flacco played in Denver last season after spending the first 11 seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens.
Bottom left: Patrick Ewing is the latest high-profile sports figure to test positive for COVID-19. Ewing, who is currently the head basketball coach at Georgetown, is under care and isolated at a local hospital. Ewing is best known for being an 11-time NBA All-Star with the New York Knicks. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.
Bottom right: Jerry Sloan, one of the NBA's all-time coaching greats, died on Friday at the age of 78 due to complications from Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia. Sloan coached the Utah Jazz for 23 years, leading the team to two NBA Finals appearances in 1997 and 1998. He ranks 4th in league history with 1,221 career wins.
