Top: Major League Baseball players this week began their summer training in preparation for the revised 2020 season, which will get underway in less than three weeks. Safety concerns over the coronavirus have resulted in some prominent names opting out of the season, including Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher David Price (left). Meanwhile, some MLB players have already contracted COVID-19, including four-time All-Star Freddie Freeman (right), one of four Atlanta Braves players to test positive for the virus.
Bottom left: New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka gets examined by team staff after getting hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton during a practice at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. Yankees manager Aaron Boone says Tanaka suffered concussion-like symptoms and was taken to a local hospital, but was released later in the day.
Bottom right: The Washington Redskins have reportedly come up with some new nicknames to replace the current one. Head coach Ron Rivera made the statement to the Washington Post on Saturday, as the team faces pressure to change the nickname it has held since 1933. ESPN reports that the Redskins are likely to change their name after the team announced on Friday that it would "undergo a thorough review" of the nickname.
